Public Hearing and Clarification Regarding the Voluntary Multi-Year Water Connection Fee Payment Program.

About the Proposed Voluntary Program. Montara Water and Sanitary District has developed a proposal to support existing homes currently served by wells to voluntarily connect to the public water supply if they desire.

This Multi -Year Water Connection Fee Payment Program is designed to allow homeowners to pay the connection fee and other costs of connecting to the public water system over a period of up to ten years through their property tax bill.

Property owners applying for the program in 2017 would receive the program interest free.

Public Hearing. At a public hearing to be held at the District on Thursday, January 19th, at 7:30 PM, staff will provide a detailed presentation of the planned program, cost and other details.

The Board will take public input and may take action to amend, delay or approve this program.

Clarifying Information Contained in A Recent Public Notice on this Topic. The District mailed an invitation to the public hearing last December. The letter describes the area covered by the Voluntary Multi-Year Water Connection Fee Payment Program as “within the urban zone.” We would like to note that the correct planning term is “urban area” rather than “urban zone.” In addition, some letters were sent to properties that are outside of this urban area. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this might have created.
